|
WAR
|
All of the pending matches have been entered into the scheduler.
The inter divisional matches should be happening during this week. (between now and next sunday)
This weeks matches will determine what division your team is in for next season
Starting next week there will be three weeks of playoffs.
Playoff matches MUST happen ON TIME (that means DURING the week they are scheduled for)
If the playoffs run over the three weeks then we won't be playing in a three week format again, and will stick with the top4/2week format.

08.21.2003 :: ZH vs ONE Base Match (summary by Bobrath)
|
|
FWIW, folks missed out on three really close maps that would have been fun to listen to or watch. Maybe next time we'll get on the ball and organize the casting sooner (not to early to start plannin on casting the championship match.....)
ONE put up amazing effort and forced us into numerous strategy shifts through all three maps.
First map was NoShelter and ONE showed us how to coordinate a bomber and shrike grab perfectly. We were lucky enough to have our A game in cappers and some truly amazying opposite side flag returns by our chasers. The flare forests that sprung up to protect ONE cappers was a site to be seen. ZH managed to pull out the win, but only as they held off an amazing come back attempt by ONE. Final score 4 - 2.
Second up was Pandemonium, a ZH favorite and apparently also a ONE fav as well. This map saw numerous LO nade rushes, HO overwhelmings, and major turret reparing. As a capper, seeing the six man ld of ONE around the flag was very scary and they stopped tons of our grabs from going too far. With a score of 4 - 2, ZH managed to pull off another win, but only after adjusting three times in game.
Final map was Rollercoaster (and I just hate any T1 map) and the match went just that way up and down with lots of thrills. Farmers on both sides had their work cut out for them and the ONE shrikers..... all I can say is wow. Our HO never had a chance to get off more then a few long range shots before they were run down, and well as a capper (again) I'd hear the engines and pray they would miss (more often then not they wouldn't). Lots of fast (for base) grabs and jumps into shrikes that blow up as you get there. Midfields that are littered with corpses from both sides. This map was close and only a pair of chain caps separated the teams in the end. ZH finished their perfect season 3 -1.
ONE gave us great games and I can definitly see how they were able to go the rest of the season with only a tie and no losses. GL to ONE in the playoffs, just not when they're playing us. Lookin forward to the rematch if it happens.

08.21.2003 :: Classic Week 6 match
|
{BEE}Daolin[LP]

DOM and ZH fought each other and Guiness had this to say about the match
After last seasons dismantling of DOM, ZH was awaken to the new DOM lineup.
They went from 3 cap out shut outs in season 2 to 3 very close Maps.
Drifts was a 1-0 win for ZH which was a major battle the wHOle way through.
Both defenses were amazing and the 1 ZH cap took the map.
On Euro Feign the map was tied 2-2 with Dom jumping out to a lead to only lose by one in a great come back by ZH.
Both teams did a great job clustering.
Wilderzone was a special map for DOM because it was the first time they were victorious against ZH on map.
It was another close map with the score 3-2 in the final seconds until DOM got a last second cap at the final to make it 4-2.
This was one of the matches you look for on T2 TV because it was a nail biter the whole way through.
GG to ZH and DOM for playing a great Match.

08.21.2003 :: Week 6 past sorry not many recaps
|
{BEE}Daolin[LP]

Sorry folks, I been super busy and thus haven't had the time for writeups, but Phierce from dRats had this to say about their match vs AC!
The AC/dRATs match was lined up to be an important one for both teams.
If the dRATs had any chance at all of catching Ni4Ni in the #2 spot in
the division, they needed to win all three of these games. AC also
needed the wins to help propel them to the #3 spot and (hopefully) into
the playoffs.
We started the night with Quagmire(x2) which had been selected by AC.
For anyone who is in the know, AC has a reputation for this map. I
remember their 7man TWL record on this map was something like 15-1.
Interestingly enough, that 1 loss was to none other than the Desert
Rats. As such this map promised to be a good one.
The dRATs broke away with the flag on the very first run and scored a
quick cap to go up 1-0. That was the final score for the map. I was on
defense and sweating it out extremely hard toward the end of the game
when it was all chaos for the last two minutes as AC overloaded their
offense and completely leveled what seemed like the whole side of the
map. There were body gibs and broken stuff scattered all over the place,
but it just wasn't enough to break through. That had as much to do with
luck as it did to do with our defense.
At this time, our 10 year old had to go to bed (first day of school the
next day) and we inexplicably lost another player (still waiting to hear
from him, I hope everything is OK). We had already recruited the help of
one sub because many of our players couldn't make it for the night
(school, internet servicing and anniversaries). Luckily our sub was able
to recruit some of his clan members to come help out. He actually
brought 3 others which resulted in 4 subs, but AC said they wanted to
play 11v11 anyway with the subs.
The next map was another AC selection, WoodyMyrk(x2). We were
concerened about this map because we had had some problems with it in
the past (which I'm sure is why AC picked it). The defenses were tight
on this map and much of the map went 0-0. finally, dRATs broke through
and scored a cap to which AC quickly responded. Toward the end of the
game, we sent an overloaded offense because we knew we needed to win the
game in order for us to have a chance at making #2 in the division. Our
plan, however, backfired on us and AC was able to break away with the
flag and score with about one minute left. They held on to their lead to
win the map 2-1.
The final map was the dRATs pick of Rollercoaster. I played HOF on this
one and AC had their stuff together. They went up a quick 1-0 lead with
some clever plays on offense, but dRATS was able to score in the ensuing
cap chaos to quickly bring it back to 1-1. AC was then able to break
away again to make it 2-1. It was 2-1 for a while until dRATs made some
adjustments on offense and broke away with another cap. dRATs was then
able to score another cap with about 1:30 left to bring it to 3-2. AC
answered by once again sending an overloaded offense and broke away with
the flag, but the clock ran out while AC was bringing it home.
Those were some extremely intense and close games and a heck of a lot
of fun. I have a special request for the BEML for AC and dRATs to always
be in the same division so we will always play each other. We are two
very evenly matched teams and I look forward to some more very GGs.
Special thanks to -CDL- for being available with the subs. Manitou,
ChrisMOG, IronRaven and THrONeBeaST were great assets. When I first went
to the BEML chat to find a sub, Manitou told me it had been a loooong
time since he had played base. I told him to come in anyway and he could
play HO on Quaq. That got him interested and he was then able to recruit
his buds to help out in the next two maps.
