05.24.2006 :: Tribes:Vengeance Season 5 Start
|
PeaceKeeper
|
My appologies for the delay in getting the season started, things have been a mess in IRL for me and we've been working on getting 3 new teams into the league. Next season will start June 11 after voting on some new maps and the new teams. I expect at least 7 teams to be participating in Season 5. :(
Team captains, please take this time to solidify your roster and prepare for next season. There will likely me some new maps (see Map Forum) and we'll be having less map choice this time around - some of the old standards may not be there if not voted in. So brush up on ALL of them. hehe. Also, please visit the Captains forum frequently and post any recommendations on rule changes, etc. We will be voting on hte possibility of using Vanilla mod for the season, whihc is likely to be a bit controversial ... would like to see some more debate on the subject before it gets to the vote.
Cheers!

05.24.2006 :: Team Resurrection wins T:V Season 4!
|
PeaceKeeper

Congratulations to resurrection for winning BEML Tribes:Vengeance Season 4. Resurrection took all three maps against the very talented team Osis claiming the Tribes: Vengeance championship in their startup season.
Great games from everyone else as well! Interestingly, the final standings in the playoffs were almost exactly the same as in the regular season. Guess that means we need to mix it up a bit next season! :) |

01.19.2006 :: BattleField 2 Team Captains Meeting Recap
|
Spectre
|
Here's the Readers Digest version of the TC Meeting last night:
1. Team minimum size will now be 10 players per side.
2. Wake Island was unanimously denied entry to the map rotation.
3. The maps for this season will be voted upon by all the teams, then drawn out of a hat to see what order they will actually be played in.
4. The Team Captains voted against making the Special Forces Expansion a part of the regular rotation maps. A thread will be started to see if there is any interest in SF alone.
5. Teams were instructed to propose player limitations for each map version. (ex: 11 players and under must play 16 player version, 12 and up must play 32, etc.)
6. Teams were instructed to turn in their clans map lists ranked from most popular (#1) to least popular (#12) excluding Wake Island.
7. If you have any suggestions for new maps (private party maps) please start a thread here and be sure to provide a download link so others can try the map out.
8. Some reminders: PB should ALWAYS be on during matches as it's a part of the rules. Unlocks will not be made available during matches. Gamerecorder use will NOT be required, but you may certainly use it if you wish. If your opponent politely requests that you turn it off, then you need to do so.
9. Recruiting will be allowed on most other teams servers this season as everyone wants to see higher numbers in a match. Please be polite and ask first in any case.
10. The use of punishment for teams that do not abide by their agreed upon match negotiations was brought up. I am going to start a separate thread for alternative suggestions to avoid such an issue. This will most likely be in the TC forum, so if you do not have access, please get your Captains to post your thoughts for you. |

01.09.2006 :: BF2 Season One Championship
|
Spectre
|
The BEML would like to congratulate the Mature Asskickers on winning the first BattleField 2 Season Championship. They capped off an undefeated season by defeating Indiana Vehicles on a closely played Strike at Karkand. A report by Dawg from =IV=:
"On Friday 1/6/05, (MA) & =IV= met in the (MA) server for the BF2 Championship. The 16 player Karkand map was selected and the teams fought it out 8 vs 8. In the first map, =IV=, on the USMC side was able to cap the Market and Hotel, but (MA) was able to hold them off for a 45-0 win. Second map, (MA), on the USMC side was able to cap the market, then the Hotel, and then flags were taken back and forth till =IV= was able to hold off (MA) for a 34-0 win.
Final score - (MA) 45 =IV= 34"
Thanks to all the teams that made this first season possible! Hopefully we'll have more of the same success with our next season.
As a reminder, the Big Bash will be held on Thursday, January 12th at 9 PM EST. We will be using the following servers:
Game server: 206.196.99.20 (Gamewatch serve via Dawg from =IV=)
TS2 server: MA's TS2 server (don't have the IP offhand)
For backups, I was planning on using the MA match server (offered by Scratch), and the TS2 offered by Gamewatch.
If any of this will not be available at that time, please let me know ASAP so we can go with alternatives. Thanks to all of you for letting us use your servers/equipment.
The Team Captains meeting for BF2 will be held Wednesday, January 18th, on mIRC, (irc.gamesurge.net, #thebeml) at 9 PM EST. If you have an issue you wish to bring up, please e-mail the issue to me prior to the metting so I can add it to my docket. Anyone is welcome to attend, however, meeting protocol will be enforced so make sure you know it and will follow it!

12.05.2005 :: BF2 Playoff News

Pre-Playoff Preparation (December 4th-December10th)
Each team needs to select their top three choices for the playoff maps (http://www.beml.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=36890#36890). After these maps have been posted, there will be a vote. The map nomination will close Wednesday and a vote will be put up. The vote will be closed Thursday evening so that the clans know what map will be played as soon as possible. Please prepare for this and have your TC's ready to nominate maps and vote immediately thereafter!
Week One (December 11th-17th)
Game I: [57th] vs. -=Ao=-
Game II: [OGzr] vs. ^DOM^
MA - bye
=IV= - bye
Week Two (December 18th-December 31st)
Game III: Winner of Game I vs. MA
Game IV: Winner of Game II vs. =IV=
Lose of Game I vs. Loser of Game II (Toilet Bowl)
Week Three (January 1st-January7th)
Game V: Winner of Game III vs. Winner of Game IV (Championship match)
Game VI: Loser of Game III vs. Loser of Game IV (Championship Cup match)
Week Four (January 8th-January 14th)
Massive Mayhem-need to find a large reliable server, two TS servers, a backup server, a backup TS server, and two volunteers for the TC's. I would like to see the TC's from MA and =IV= have those duties as they were the ones who finished #1 and #2, but it's up to you guys.
Week Five (January 15th-January 21th)
Meeting of the Team Captains
Need to review the season, the rules, the maps, etc. Any issue that need to be discussed will be brought up here. If you have such an issue, please make sure to let me know about it beforehand so I can bring it up. The meeting will take place on IRC (#thebeml, irc.gamesurge.net), and perhaps we can set up a TS server to make things easier for us all (although you'll have to listen to me half the night ).
Tentative start to Season Two: January22nd

11.23.2005 :: Sincere apologies...
|
Spectre
|
The Administration never got around to announcing that Mark of the Beast had won the Season 3 Playoffs for the Championship. For that, we sincerely apologize. There is no excuse I can offer for the lapse.
}I{ defeated a very talented |osis team by two maps to one in some close matchplay. Osis swept }I{ in Canyon Crusade 8-0, but were then slowed down greatly and fell to }I{ in Bloodvelt and Tropics 4-2 and 6-4 respectively. Hats off to both teams for coming so far, and congratulations to }I{ on becoming the Season 3 Champs.
}I{ has been added to the BEML Hall of Fame as our 3rd Tribes:Vengeance Seasonal Champion.

From their website:
Quote:
"ClanCentral (www.clancentral.us) is here to unite the gaming community as a whole. Our primary focus is to bring the people who are looking for teams and the teams who are looking for that one person together. Running around trying to find a team or team members ends here
We will also be providing webhosting for the teams that are in need of this service. At this time the service is under development, and when it becomes available we will let everyone know. There will be a few different packages to choose from so you will be able to have the website that is just right for your team.
Clancentral will also remain ad free for as long as I own this site. No popups, no ads, no hidden spyware......if it isn't about gaming, it has no use on this site!"
____________________________________________________________________
If I remember correctly, HyTeK played in the BEML once upon a time, so I thought we'd help out a bit, and try to give his site a boost. If you get a chance to help out with a post here or there, or even a suggestion to a team or player to go to ClanCentral, please do so. He's going to run a banner from the BEML there, so perhaps we can even get some recruits from there as well, if not entire teams. Dream big I say!!
